A rough approximation

The new house will look roughly like this one which our construction company has already completed. But as Ivy says, without so much crap around it. And without the green windows. And probably less banana trees.

THE real GOOD LIFE

I used to watch this show when I was young. Maybe this is where the motivation comes from.

New Home

Around 18 months ago, before Ivy and I got married, we both thought about buying a piece of land in the country and building on it. it was somewhat of a pipe dream as the plausibility of doing this here in Taiwan was limited. We shelved the idea and looked into every other option for owning our own house. We looked at old houses with the plan to renovate. We looked at store fronts with homes above them with the plan to open a small bookstore and cafe. We looked at newly built houses. And one point, Ivy even suggested we buy an apartment just to get us into the property 'game'. None of the above options were viable, affordable, or even vaguely interesting for us.

So recently we went back to our original plan in the country. This blog will follow our progress. Well, as best as it can. There is lots of work ahead of us as we go through everything; choosing flooring, planting trees, arguing, shelving etc. I'll do my best to update in English and Ivy will do her best to update in Chinese.
